Abalone Shell 6 inch+ Australia

A big abalone shell from Australia, over six inches across, used as the dish you rest a smouldering smudge stick in. The inside is mother of pearl, silvery green shifting to pink and gold as you turn it, with brown markings and the natural row of holes along one edge. The outside is rough and chalky, so it sits steadily on a table. Put a layer of sand or salt in the bottom before you burn anything in it, which protects the shell and makes the ash easy to tip out. Each shell is natural, so size, colouring and markings all vary. The small wooden cube in the photo is 1cm across and is there to show scale, and is not included with the product.
